The new mold to be broken August 13, 2010 Shane Allen Windham (Dallas, TX) There really is no quick way to explain the breadth and depth of what this game has to offer. It contains elements of a good 40 other games I've played and loved. Having them all wrapped up in one new and improved package is almost overwhelming at times. If I had to own only ONE game for the rest of my life, this would be it. This is not to say it's perfect. I've experienced a glitch or two (like what can happen if you whistle for your horse while riding it). But there is simply no other game out there that offers all that this one brings to the table. A must have.
One of the best games ever August 13, 2010 L I bought this game on release day, and so far I've played it for about 200 hours. Besides the main storyline, there is lots of other things to do as reviewers have mentioned. One of them is hunting. Hunting is challenging and relaxing at the same time, and is one of my favorite activities in the game. Probably because it reminds me of hunting back on the farm in my youth. There are even geographical locations in the game that remind me of the farm I grew up on. So it's a trip down memory lane for me. I don't hunt in real life anymore, but it's a ton of fun to do in this game, in the comfort of my living room.
When I feel the need for a real adrenaline rush I go online and play the multiplayer games. Gang matches, and co-op missions are my favorites. Free roam shootouts can be fun too, with the right people. There are plenty of good players online, and it will take good aiming and keeping your wits about you to survive for any length of time.
I've only mentioned a couple of the best things I like about this game. There's more, but I'm not in to writing long reviews. In closing, this might end up being the game I've ever played the most. After 200 hours, I'm not at all bored with it, and with new downloadable content coming out in staged intervals, I'm sure I'll still be playing it well into next year.
It gets my vote as one of the best video games ever made.
best game ever! August 11, 2010 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted this game so bad-but my mom said she wouldn't pay 60 bucs and I had to find a deal so I searched online. Amazon had the best deal and quick shipping! I love this game so much-I play it all the time!!!
Rockstar does it again! August 11, 2010 Jason F. Hall (Houston) I was a little confused at first, the game play was not quite the same as Red Dead Revolver. It took me a little while to realize that it was Red Dead Horse, if you like Grand Theft Auto then you will enjoy RDR. By including the animals there are a lot more things to shoot!!!
GTA of the wild west! August 11, 2010 Anti MTV (USA) I use to play GTA alot years ago but now I find myself bored with carjacking and doing impossible missions I can't accomplish in GTA, But with RDR I found it much better and more fun to play as a cow boy in the wild west which I find the missions easier (but challenging) than the GTA missions. The graphics look almost realistic the shootings are alot of fun for the missions and pretty much everything is very similar to GTA, If you play GTA you will pretty much know how to play RDR.
Overall fun game!
